InLab, the easy-to-use CAD/CAM system from Sirona, covers a wide range of indications from inlays, onlays and crowns to multiple-unit bridges. It miraculously combines cutting-edge technology with precision craftsmanship. The Lee Culp Tooth Anatomy Library found in the new inLab software provides users with the meticulous detail lab technicians have come to expect from one of the world’s most respected authorities on natural tooth anatomy. Essentially, inLab is a system developed by lab technicians for lab technicians.

CEREC inLab fabrication process

Lab receives impression from dentist and pours stone model using laser-visible stone.

Die is inserted into CEREC inLab system and is automatically laser-scanned. You may attend to other tasks or design another restoration while scanning takes place.

Dimensional image of model is displayed on screen, ready for quick and easy adjustments. Add cusps and shoulders. Automatically set coping thickness based upon your choice of veneering porcelain. Verify the antagonist relationship. You control each parameter - from occlusal thickness to spacer setting and everything in between - clinically, realistically and effortlessly. Labor-intensive remakes are a thing of the past: you don’t have to start over with CEREC inLab. Simply recall the saved case and make changes immediately on-screen.

Your choice of material blocks is inserted and automatically milled to your precise specifications. The exclusive tandem burs reduce milling times.





Infiltrate or sinter
Milled coping or single-piece framework is tested for fit. Any adjustments are easily made with a rubber bur. Coping or framework is then infiltrated two times for 40 minutes each time in a furnace (*) at 1140°C.
(*) Optional VITA Zyrcomat furnace is required for firing YZ materials. Certain materials, such as Yttrium-reinforced Zirconia (YZ), do not require glass infiltration. Instead, they are sintered for 6 hours in a furnace designed specifically for high-strength (>1000Mpa) all-ceramic long-span bridge applications.

Build Up
Porcelain build-up is achieved and lab sends finished restoration to dentist.

Copings, frameworks, bridges

  • CEREC inLab copings are milled from single solid blocks of homogenous material, making them inherently stronger. Supported by more material manufacturers than any other system, CEREC inLab provides the most extensive selection of materials available to satisfy the esthetic and functional attributes of any case.
  • CEREC inLab bridges are milled (maximum bridge size: 40mm with 2 pontics, using YZ material) from a single solid block, rather than slip-cast or pressed. This makes CEREC inLab bridges always stronger than pressed or slip-cast restorations.

Inlays, onlays, crowns
CEREC inLab also has the capability and breadth of materials necessary to produce strong and beautiful inlays, onlays and crowns, making it the most complete CAD/CAM restorative system available.

VITA In-Ceram for CEREC is milled from industrially-produced blocks. Combined with the latest ceramic developments, new VITA In-Ceram YZ material (Yttrium-stabilized Zirconia) results in all-ceramic substructures so strong (900 Mpa +) they have been dubbed "CERAMIC STEEL".
